"The Confession of Lee Ha

                                                                                    Kristi Shuey/2nd Street Design Lab

"I loved how this film transitioned from comedic to tragic. I'm glad I caught this film. It's a bit rough around the edges, but it's still a gem of an indie. I'm still thinking about it. "

"I think it ended too soon.  I want more.  I don't know what to think about the ending, but I'm certain I'll never forget this film."   - imdb.com message boards for Two Harbors

Like A Great Novel

25 September 2007
Author: matt-torgerson from United States

"It's been a long time since I've seen a movie that warrants analytical or critical discussion.  James Vculek's Two Harbors demands such discussion.  Like any great novel, Vculek purposefully avoids obligatory statement of the obvious and, through clever dialogue and subtle yet stunning black and white imagery and scene selection, allows the audience to draw its own conclusions concerning a great number of things."  from

Two Harbors  kicked off the new series Home Grown Cinema at the Parkway Theater in Minneapolis on Monday May 12, 2008 at 7:30pm.  The director, Director of Photography, Aaron Gelperin and star Alex Cole were in attendance for a post-screening Q&A.  The second feature, at 9:30 is the documentary, Bill's Big Pumpkins.

Two Harbors screened at the third annual Staten Island Film Festival in June, 2008.  (I had never heard of this festival, but someone must have seen the WNET broadcast in January and contactd the station trying to track down the film.)

Two Harbors  screened on WNET-13 New York on Saturday, 19 January 2008 at 11:00pm as part of the new series on New York public television, Reel 13 Indies.

Here's WNET-13's trailer for Two Harbors which, amusingly, has been paired with the religious epic The Robe for one of the odder double features you're likely to see.  That's why the trailer starts with Richard Burton and Victor Mature traipsing around in tunics.  But be patient, after about a minute the Two Harbors trailer starts:
